Reaching out

During this autumn, Crisis Response Lab researchers have been actively collaborated with Regional Crisis Preparedness Agencies as well as the Swedish Contingency Agency (MSB), to reach out to local and regional organization and present the latest insights from academic crisis response research. Topics such as Situation Awareness, Documenting time-critical events, inter-agency information sharing, and social media use in crisis have been of primary focus in these events. A good example was the yesterday meeting with local and regional crisis response agencies in the Stockholm region, which resulted in inspiring discussions between professionals and researchers concerning the relationship between technology and methodology in emergency and crisis response. Crisis Response Lab will continue and strengthen these reach-out activities to ensure that the professional domain here in Sweden have a direct access to academic research as a resource in their own organizational development efforts.
